Scope

The conference aims at disseminating the research performed in IsoNose as well as promoting profound discussions with eminent scientists by addressing the following questions:

  • How do metal stable isotope signatures characterize weathering processes?
  • How do metal stable isotope signatures trace water transport?
  • How to use metal stable isotopes as environmental tracers?
  • How to use metal stable isotopes for detecting and exploring metal ores?
  • How to improve analytical capabilities and develop robust routine applications for metal stable isotopes?

Programme

The workshop programme will combine invited talks and poster presentations with group discussions. We expect around 80 persons to attend the conference.

Talks: 45 minutes + 30 minutes discussion
Posters: on display for the whole duration of the workshop, portrait format

Venue

The IsoNose final workshop will be held in the Hôtel Abbaye Ecole de Sorèze, France. The hotel is listed as a historical monument and set in a former abbey in a large park. It is located 25 km from Castres, between Toulouse, Albi and Carcassonne.

Registration, accommodation and meals

For registration please visit our on-line registration form and follow the prompts. The registration and meals are free of charge and include lunch, dinner and two coffee breaks. There are three options to book your accommodation 

  1. IsoNosers and invited speakers: Fill the on-line form. IsoNose will book and pay the accommodation. 
  2. Young students: IsoNose has limited funding to cover accommodation expenses for young students. This will be treated on a case-by-case basis. If you are interested, please contact isonose(at)gfz-potsdam.de, after filling the on-line form
  3. Other participants: Fill the on-line form. IsoNose will reserve your room directly at the hotel. Due to the limited number of single rooms at the conference venue it might be necessary that you have to share a room with another conference participant.

Prices: twin room €35 p.p. per night; single room €50 per night (you pay directly at the hotel)

Shuttle

A free shuttle service will be provided between Toulouse International Airport and the workshop venue on the 8th January at 17:00 and the 11th January at 13:30 (arrival Toulouse International Airport 15:00). Please note that individually organised transfers cannot be reimbursed by IsoNose.
